Social and legal services

The goal behind social and legal services provided by Drom, Romany center is to help people in difficult situations to solve their challenges by means of free, impartial, independent and discrete advice, information etc.

Most of the services are provided by the Social and Legal Advisory Center that offers a combination of professional consulting services and social field work. The center's main domains are:

• Employment
• Education
• Housing
• Social welfare
• Family
• Legal services

The primary target groups are the inhabitants of socially excluded areas in Brno. The secondary target group are people in difficult social situations in general.
In 2005 the Social and Legal Advisory Centre was visited by 1 064 clients.

Apart from the above stated activites, the Centre also carried out 3 projects:

• Project Craftrooms of which the aim was to increase participants' qualifications and earning capacity and to initiate a distribution net of home producers and purchasers.
• Project Mikrobus, The EQUAL Initiative, dealing with the issue of employment.
• Project Persefona, Drom acted as a partner organization in a programme concentrating on the integration of victims of home violence.
